David grew up in Pasadena in a loving, Christian family, went to UCLA and then Cal, and got his degree in synthetic organic chemistry. He taught chemistry at Whitman, Colorado College, and UCSD for several years and then started and grew his own business in scientific instrumentation. He has two boys (one in the Marines in Afghanistan; one a local chef) and married Joy Wolf (a long-time member at St. David’s Episcopal nearby) in 2009 where they live in Poway. He offline interests include Anglican choral music (favorite composers: Vaughan Williams and Rutter), languages, winetasting, figuring out the weirdnesses of Windows, and things that go fast and make lots of noise (he’s still a kid).
